Little Zombie Amigurumi Pattern

Halloween is around the corner but there’s still time to make a spooky, cute project!

Meet this little zombie cutie! His flesh may have turned green, might be a little spunky in smell and a little bit of brain matter is exposed. Still looks adorable in my opinion. Oh and he’s also lost an eye. I love the little bit of hair his got left and the adorable ears. Honestly, I don’t think this is the kind of zombie I’d run away from. Might make a new friend 🙂

This pattern is relatively easy, basic stitches is used throughout although there is a tiny part of the pattern that uses surface crochet (the brain part). If you’re not familiar with surface crochet, I show how to do it in the video below. The legs, torso and head are crocheted as one piece. Ears and arms are crocheted as separate pieces.

Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing. Weave the yarn tail through the front loops of the remaining stitches and pull the tail gently to close. Secure the tail by weaving it through the piece several times. Using the same tail, embroider a nose by sewing several horizontal stitches, one stitch wide between Rounds 30 and 31, approximately one stitch away from the safety eye. Using the same tail, embroider an eyelid by sewing two diagonal stitches over Rounds 31 and 32 directly next to the safety eye.

EAR (make 2, in Green yarn)

Rnd 1: 6 sc in a magic ring (6 sts)
Slip stitch to 1st sc stitch. Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

ARM (make 2, in Green yarn)

Rnds 3 – 4: Sc around (12 sts)
Rnd 5: Sc 2, dec; rep 3 times (9 sts)
Rnd 6 – 9: Sc around (9 sts)
Flatten the opening of the arm, then single crochet the two edges to close (no need to stuff). Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

BRAIN (in Peach yarn)

Make a slipknot on your hook. Insert the hook and place it under Rounds 38 and 39 of the head. Work 6 surface crochet stitches over these rounds only. The brain should look like a lump. Fasten off and weave in ends.

TO FINISH

1. Use Dark Grey yarn to embroider an X over Rounds 31 and 32, approximately one stitch away from the nose. Using the same yarn, embroider the cut stitches on the head.

2. Trim a few strands of Dark Grey yarn and attach them to the top of the head for hair.

3. Sew the ears on the side of the head over Round 31. One ear should be approximately 7 stitches apart from the eye and the other ear, 7 stitches apart from the X stitch.

4. Sew the arms on the side of the body over Rounds 18 to 20.

5. Sew the gap close between the legs using the leftover yarn tail from the 1st leg.

Superb! Your little zombie amigurumi is finished! I hope you enjoyed this pattern!
