Love Heart – FREE Amigurumi Pattern

A cute love heart to crochet for a quick Valentine’s Day project. You can use thicker yarn and bigger hook for a larger heart (maybe a little throw pillow) or go smaller with a thinner yarn and smaller hook to make keychains or bag charms.

Free pattern below and video tutorial for Love Heart amigurumi.

Crochet along with me, watch the video tutorial:

LOVE HEART

You will need:
3mm crochet hook
8 ply (light worsted/DK) yarn – your choice of colour
Scissors
Yarn needle
Stitch marker
Toy stuffing

Skill: Beginner

Pattern Notes:
– You’ll need to know how to make a magic ring/circle.
– You will be crocheting in spirals.
– Invisible decrease technique was used for this pattern – if you’re not familiar with this decrease, a regular single crochet decrease is perfectly fine to do.
– Have fun crocheting!

Abbreviations (US Crochet Terminology)
Rnd – round
sc – single crochet
inc – single crochet increase (2 sc in one stitch)
dec – single crochet decrease (sc 2 together)
st / sts – stitch / stitches
rep – repeat

HEART BUMP
Rnd 1: Work 7 sc in a magic ring (7 sts)
Rnd 2: Inc in each st around (14 sts)
Rnd 3: Sc 1, inc; rep 7 times (21 sts)
Rnds 4 – 6: Sc around (21 sts)
Fasten off. Leave a long yarn tail about 20cm in length. Make a second bump but do not fasten off. We will join the two bumps in the next round. When joining, make the first single crochet into the stitch next to the fasten off point on the first bump.

HEART
Rnd 7: Sc around first bump (21 sts). Sc around second bump (21 sts) (42 sts)
Rnds 8 – 10: Sc around (42 sts)
Rnd 11: Sc 4, dec; rep 7 times (35 sts)
Rnd 12: Sc around (35 sts)
Rnd 13: Sc 3, dec; rep 7 times (28 sts)
Rnd 14: Sc around (28 sts)
Rnd 15: Sc 2, dec; rep 7 times (21 sts)
Rnd 16: Sc around (21 sts)
Begin stuffing the heart firmly and continue stuffing until closing.
Rnd 17: Sc 1, dec; rep 7 times (14 sts)
Rnd 18: Sc around (14 sts)
Rnd 19: Dec 7 times (7 sts)
Fasten off. Leave a long yarn tail about 20cm in length. Using your yarn needle, weave the yarn tail through the front loops of the remaining stitches and pull to close. Hide the yarn tail several times inside the piece. Use the leftover yarn tail from the first bump to sew the gap close between the two bumps.
