Here is Abby Tabby! Abby is a tabby kitten who enjoys playing with yarn and she’s just the sweetest. I had so much fun making this cutie. Abby’s pattern is now available for download in my Etsy, Craftsy and Amigurumipatterns.net stores.
Jack Pup and Abby are just the best of friends!
Just like my previous amigurumi Jack Pup, I designed Abby to be in a sitting position. I’ve given her a collar with a jingle bell and of course a scarf too in case she gets cold!
Abby Tabby’s pattern is suitable for beginners and the pattern is detailed with plenty of photos for references and assistance. You will need to know how to make a magic ring, crochet in spirals, single crochet, double crochet, single crochet increase and decrease, change colours (make stripes) and basic sewing technique to sew the pieces together. You can also make Abby without having to crochet the stripes for a quicker project but the stripes are what makes Abby a tabby kitten.
I used a 4.5mm hook and 8 ply acrylic yarn to crochet this cat and the finished item measured about 23cm (9 inches) from top to bottom.
You will need:
- 4.5mm crochet hook
- 1x 8 ply yarn ball – at least 270m (295 yds) in Grey
- 1x 8 ply yarn ball in White
- 1x 8 ply yarn ball in Pink
- Small amount of pink embroidery thread
- Small amount of white embroidery thread
- Yarn needle
- Polyester toy stuffing
- 2x 20mm plastic safety eyes
- 1x small craft bell (optional)
- Craft pipe cleaner/craft wire (optional)
- Stitch marker (optional)
- Pins (optional)
