Meet Ollie the Quokka! When Simply Crochet magazine reached out to me late last year to design an Australian animal for their upcoming supplement issue, I was beyond excited. Of course, I couldn’t turn it down and because it’s Australian wildlife, I couldn’t wait to get my hooks working on a quokka! Ollie’s pattern is available in Simply Crochet magazine, issue 122. Out now.
I’ve always wanted to design another Aussie animal. There’s Alfie the Koala, KC Koala and Mama Jill and Little Joey Kangaroo. Now I can add a quokka to the collection! There’s still plenty of down under wildlife out there and I can’t wait to design them and add to the collection.
I’m absolutely thrilled to have my pattern featured in the magazine along with other talented designers from Australia. It’s such an honour! The amigurumi supplement also includes patterns to make a ferocious crocodile, adorable koala and a loveable bushman. You beauty!
You may have seen some celebrity photos out on the internet posing with these cuties. Quokkas are known to appear in selfies with tourists and they’re just so adorable. No? Never seen a quokka before? Just look them up online and prepare yourself for cuteness!
Did you know that quokkas are often dubbed the happiest animals in the world? This is due to their friendly playful nature and happy smiles. They are definitely very cute!
Aren’t those little dimples cute?! If you’re already a subscriber to the magazine and you make Ollie, I’d love to see it and read your thoughts! Want to make Ollie but don’t have a copy? You can visit Gathered to download their app to grab a digital copy.
